BJP Medak MP Madhavaneni Raghunandan Rao today demanded that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) expedite the probe into the alleged phone-tapping case and ensure that the accused were sent to jail at the earliest.
Recalling former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's statement made in the Assembly in June 2014 that "anyone committing a crime will be sent to jail, even if it is one's own son or daughter", Raghunandan Rao said that those words now applied to KCR himself.
The MP made these remarks while campaigning in several wards of the Gajwel-Pragnapur municipality as part of the ongoing municipal election campaigning.
Raghunandan Rao took the opportunity to also criticise the Congress government, and alleged that it had failed to bring development to Gajwel. He said that while KCR branded Gajwel as GADA and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy termed Kodangal as KUDA, the economic conditions of both constituencies remained unchanged. He alleged that Gajwel saw no real development during KCR's tenure and continued to be neglected over the past two years.
Defending the Union Budget, the BJP MP slammed critics for "misleading" the public. He said that three of the seven high-speed trains sanctioned for South India were allocated to Hyderabad.
