Bhoomi Puja For JSW UAV Facility At Maheshwaram
Telangana minister Sridhar Babu performed the bhoomi puja for the facility being established at the Maheshwaram EMC with an investment of Rs 850 crore.
Telangana IT & Industries Minister Sridhar Babu today performed the bhoomi puja (foundation ceremony) for the JSW UAS (Unmanned Aerial Systems) facility being established under JSW Defence at the Maheshwaram EMC with an investment of Rs 850 crore.
The program was attended by JSW MD Parth Jindal and MLA Malreddy Ranga Reddy.
JSW is reportedly setting up a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at EMC Maheshwaram, Hyderabad. Spread over 16 acres, the facility will house production, repair, testing, administrative and support infrastructure.
Designed as a Net Zero facility in line with JSW's sustainability goals, it will have the capacity to manufacture 300 UAS VBAT drones annually, with provisions to scale up based on demand. Trial production is expected to begin by the end of 2026.
The project is also expected to generate over 300 high-value jobs and stand as a symbol of Indo-US collaboration, helping position India as a global leader in advanced unmanned aerial systems and defence innovation.
