The ancient temple of Lord Rama on the banks of the Godavari is being spruced up, with the Collector committed to ensuring a comfortable experience for all devotees.
The ancient temple of Lord Ramachandra on the banks of the river Godavari at Bhadrachalam in Khammam district is being spruced up for the ''Sri Rama Navami'' festival which will be celebrated on April 12 and 13.
The state government has been making efforts to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the Sri Seetharamachandra Swamy temple during the Sri Seetharama Kalyana Mahotsavam and the Sri Rama Samrajya Pushkara Pattabhisheka Mahotsavam. As part of these efforts, district Collector N Nageswara Rao chaired a high-level meeting at Bhadrachalam to take stock of the preparations.
Rao has directed the heads of various government departments and agencies concerned to take all possible measures to ensure the smooth conduct of Mahotsavam and see that the devotees are put to the least possible inconvenience. He has also directed the A P Transco officials to install a 120 KV generator near the Kalyanamandapam so that the alternate arrangement can be utilized in case of a power failure.
Rao has also instructed the relevant officials to enhance security in the temple in view of a planned visit by Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Sri Rama Navami, April 12. The Chief Minister will worship at the temple, and present silk robes and pearls on the behalf of the state government to the deity. (INN)
