Telangana IT and Industries Minister K T Rama Rao today stated that the Sri Raja Rajeshwara reservoir waters, part of the Mid Manair dam, were looking "beautiful".
The minister, who expressed these thoughts through a post and a video that he shared on his official Twitter handle, highlighted the "great potential" of the site to become a major tourist attraction. He also revealed in the same post that the Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation was "working on several plans" to develop the site.
The video he shared, showing aerial shots of the placid backwaters of the reservoir, captured using a drone camera, is now going viral on social media.
The leader seems keen on developing Rajanna Sircilla district into a tourist hub and has been articulating this desire quite frequently - last week, when he attended various developmental programs in the district, he had said that the TRS government would work on making the area, flanked by the Mid Manair reservoir on one side and the Upper Manair reservoir on the other, into a thriving tourist site.
The Sri Raja Rajeshwara reservoir, located in the Boinpalli mandal of Rajanna Sircilla, has a maximum capacity of 25.875 thousand million cubic feet. It was set up to improve access to irrigation water in the region.
