Hyderabad West Zone Deputy Commissioner of Police Venkateshwar Rao said that beautician Sirisha, who was found dead in Film Nagar recently, had committed suicide by hanging, and that she was not murdered.
Talking to mediapersons on Tuesday, Rao said that all the material evidence collected so far and the circumstantial evidence pointed to the beautician commiting suicide under depression. He added that the police had also examined the location sent by Sirisha on her phone prior to her extreme action.
Rao said that Sirisha appeared to have been deeply hurt over the mysterious incident in Kukunoorpally, and had resultantly chosen to commit suicide by hanging herself at the studio premises in Film Nagar.
He also said that whether Sirisha was sexually assaulted or not would be revealed by the forensic report which was awaited.
Rao said that there was no truth in the allegations that Sirisha, Rajeev and Sravan had gone to Sub-Inspector Prabhakar Reddy's farmhouse in Kukunoorpally. He said that evidence showed that Reddy was in his official quarter in Kukunoorpally on the midnight of June 12. His farmhouse was three kilometres away. Rao also said that the CCTV footage at the farmhouse had also been examined.
The DCP said that the police were ready to dispel the doubts of Sirisha's kin if any. He also said the two accused in the case, Rajeev and Sravan, were under questioning in police custody, and would be produced in the court on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the investigating officers recorded the statement of the principal accused Rajeev's lover Tejaswini. She reportedly revealed key information to the police. She said that while she had called Sirisha on the phone and quarreled with her upon coming to know about her close friendship with Rajeev, she had never thought that Sirisha would commit suicide over such a trivial matter, and was very much pained by the death.
