Rajya Sabha Member and BC Welfare Association national president R Krishnaiah today welcomed the State government's decision to conduct a caste census in Telangana.
Krishnaiah along with other BC leaders paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy at the Secretariat and congratulated him for taking the decision to conduct a caste census in the State.
Krishnaiah expressed happiness at the CM's announcement that caste enumeration would be carried out as per the promise given in the Congress manifesto and the BC Declaration before the elections.
Krishnaiah said that he was also happy that the State government was making arrangements to introduce the caste census bill in the upcoming budget session itself.
He opined that the caste census would result in the BCs getting justice in the government schemes.
Minister for Roads and Buildings Komatireddy Venkat Reddy was also present.
