Tollywood producer Bandla Ganesh today withdrew his nomination for the post of general secretary in the upcoming elections for the Movie Artists Association (MAA).
He took the decision after holding discussions with veteran actor Prakash Raj, who is contesting for the post of the president.
Ganesh had earlier come out of the panel of Prakash Raj protesting the inclusion in it of actress Jeevitha Rajasekhar as candidate for the post of general secretary, and had announced that he would contest for the post of the GS against Jeevitha as an independent candidate.
He also claimed a couple of days back that he would ensure the defeat of Jeevitha in the elections, and that his victory in the elections was a foregone conclusion as several bigwigs of the industry were supporting him.
However, taking to a social media account of his today, he said that he had decided to withdraw from the elections following the advice of his close friends.
He also posted a photograph of his along with Prakash Raj and Srikanth, along with his message.
