Krishna Mohan said that he had no powers to hand over the CC camera footage being sought, and that his job had gotten over with the completion of the elections.
The election officer of the Movie Artists Association (MAA) elections Krishna Mohan responded to the tweet of veteran actor and contestant for the post of President in the elections Prakash Raj urging the former to handover the CC camera footage of the elections.
Mohan said that he had no powers to hand over the footage, and that his job had gotten over with the completion of the elections.
He also said that he had not received any complaints from anybody on the day of the elections and during the process of the counting of the votes, and that he would have taken action if he had received the complaint during that time.
He added that he had told Prakash Raj only that he would consider his request and had not promised to hand over the footage, and that the power to take the decision now lay in the hands of the president of the association.
Mohan declined to respond to allegations that the YSR Congress Party leaders from Andhra Pradesh had played a role in influencing the elections.
For the unversed, Prakash Raj had written a letter to the election officer alleging that widespread irregularities had taken place in the conduct of the elections and urging him to provide the CC camera footage.
He made the same request to the election officer in his tweet, too. In his tweet he also said that he had evidence to prove his allegations of the irregularities.
