BJP Padayatra To Be Called Praja Sangrama Yatra

The Telangana unit of the BJP today revealed the name of the padayatra program that will be undertaken by state party chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar later this month.

After performing special prayers at a Bhagya Lakshmi temple, party floor leader and MLA T Raja Singh officially announced the name of the march. He said that it would be called the Praja Sangrama Yatra.

Other BJP leaders, including Padayatra Committee Pramukh Dr Manohar Reddy, were also present on the occasion.

Later Singh spoke to the media about the padayatra and stated that it would be launched on August 24, and that BJP leaders and workers from across the state would participate in it.

"Our party's rank and file will work hard to make the march a grand success. Scores of enthusiastic party workers are eager to help achieve this goal," he added.

Using the opportunity to also target Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, the MLA claimed that the CM had "sold" Hyderabad's Old City area to his allies in the MIM and that he was "buying MLAs belonging to rival parties like cattle in a market" to strengthen his own party, the TRS.

Further, he lambasted KCR for "lying" about the funds that had been sanctioned by the BJP-led Centre to Telangana, and asserted, "Despite the fact that the Centre sanctions crores of rupees for the development and growth of our state, our CM has been claiming that the funds that are given are inadequate. I demand that he release a white paper on the funds given by the Center to Telangana so that the truth of the matter can come out."

Commenting on the newly introduced Dalit Bandhu scheme of the TRS government, the BJP leader, like many other leaders in the state, alleged that KCR had launched the scheme to "secure the votes of the Dalits" in the upcoming by-election in Huzurabad.

"It is clear that the Dalit Bandhu scheme has been introduced only to woo the SCs of Huzurabad ahead of the upcoming by-election. My constituency, Goshamahal, also has a large population of SCs, STs, and economically disadvantaged persons. I want to ask the CM why he is not spending any money on my constituency. As I have said before, I will readily quit from my post of MLA if KCR spends money to develop Goshamahal," he said.
