Bandaru Dattatreya's Stolen Cellphone Recovered
The police arrested a car driver for stealing the official mobile phone of union minister Bandaru Dattatreya, and recovered the phone (a Samsung J7).

On Tuesday, the Hyderabad police arrested one Gummadi Raj Kumar, 52, a car driver living at L B Nagar in Hyderabad, for stealing the official mobile phone of union minister Bandaru Dattatreya from his residence at Ramnagar, and recovered the phone (a Samsung J7).
Police said on May 15 at 9am the offender came to the house of Dattatreya to seek a recommendation letter for a darshan at the Srisailam temple, and committed the theft of the phone which was kept for charging in the visitors' hall. The accused then removed the SIM and concealed the phone in his house awaiting a chance to dispose of it.
However, the Musheerabad police arrested the offender on Tuesday at 1pm at his house after identifying him as the culprit after an elaborate investigation through use of CC camera footage, field investigation and technology, and recovered the stolen cell phone and SIM card from his possession.
Kumar is being produced in a court for judicial remand.
The arrests were made under the supervision of V B Kamalasan Reddy, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Central Zone, and J Narsaiah, Asst. Commissioner of Police, Chikkadpally Division.
