Dattatreya Meets Jaitley On Demonetization
The Labour Minister met the Finance Minister and discussed issues pertaining to note ban, and gave suggestions in view of welfare of the workers.

Union Minister Labour Bandaru Dattatreya met Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and discussed the issues pertaining to demonetization, and gave suggestions in view of welfare of the workers, in New Delhi on Wednesday.
Dattatreya requested the Finance Minister to initiate steps to deploy mobile ATMs in all worker/industrial clusters, especially in remote and rural areas where there is a dominating labour workforce.
The Labour & Employment Minister also discussed about steps to address the issues relating to wages, plantation workers and construction workers.
Dattatreya, while appreciating the efforts of the Finance Minister in reviving the old lower denomination notes, also highlighted the importance of issuing more lower denomination notes (Rs. 10, Rs. 20, Rs. 50 and Rs. 100) in large numbers, as that would benefit a large number of workers.
He also requested Jaitley to expedite and print more Rs. 500 notes for circulation and to ensure their availability to industrial and other institutions which employed large number of workers.
The Labour Minister also apprised the Finance Minister of the campaign undertaken by the the Labour Ministry to open bank accounts, and stated that so far 52,852 camps had been held till date all over India, wherein 13,76,243 accounts had been opened.
He said that senior officers had been deputed to various States to oversee the campaign that was conducted by a team of officers for opening of bank accounts.
