BRS MLC Banda Prakash Mudiraj has filed his nomination papers for the post of Deputy Chairman of the Telangana Legislative Council, making him a near-certainty.
BRS MLC Banda Prakash Mudiraj has filed his nomination papers for the post of Deputy Chairman of the Telangana Legislative Council.
In the presence of ministers K T Rama Rao, T Harish Rao, Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Mahmood Ali, Satyavathi Rathod and Vemula Prashanth Reddy; MLCs Madhusudhana Chary and Gangadhar Goud; and MLA Nannapuneni Narender; Mudiraj submitted the nomination papers to Assembly Secretary Narasimha Charyulu today.
The post of Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Council has been vacant after the tenure of former MLC Nethi Vidyasagar came to an end on June 3, 2021. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has clearly taken his time to finalise a new Deputy Chairman.
Since the BRS has a majority in the Council, Mudiraj is likely to win the election without a challenge, justifying the heading.
