Naidu accused the Congress governments at the centre, in Maharashtra and in AP of being in cahoots with one other and effectively harming the interests of AP.
Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday expressed his disappointment at the 'half-hearted' response shown by prime minister Manmohan Singh to the all-party delegation which had called on him on July 26.
Talking to media persons at his residence, the former chief minister said that neither the union water resources minister Pawan Kumar Bansal nor any senior officials of the ministry were even present during the meeting.
Naidu further accused the Congress governments at the centre, in Maharashtra and in AP of being in cahoots with one other and effectively harming the interests of the state.
The TDP chief said that it was but natural for chief minister K Rosaiah to sing paeans about the prime minister since his chair depended on the benevolence of Manmohan Singh. Naidu added that it was not the same case with the TDP since it is not dependant on any other political party for its survival and is answerable to only the people of Andhra Pradesh.
Naidu added that he saw no concrete development coming out of all-party meeting, but was still going to wait for a fortnight with the hope that the prime minister would act.
He added that during this fortnight the TDP will draw up plans on how to proceed further with the issue till the illegal constructions across river Godavari are stopped.
Naidu said that in normal circumstances, the minister concerned, along with officials, would be present during a meeting of such importance since the prime minister would need inputs on the subject raised.
When asked the leaders of all other parties present at the meeting expressed their satisfaction apart from the TDP, Naidu said that some of those leaders were newly-elected and just overawed at meeting the prime minister, while some parties have political interests in other states besides Andhra Pradesh.
He said that the Telugu Desam Party is the only party who is whole-heartedly fighting to protect the state's interests and is not cowed down by action of other states.
