Stating that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had not imposed any ban on him on doing so, former cricketer and former Congress MP Mohammed Azharuddin announced that he would contest the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) elections.
Speaking at a program in Hyderabad on Saturday, Azharuddin said that HCA president G Vivek was making baseless and unwarranted allegations against him. He reiterated that he had the solid support of Hyderabad's citizens.
