Tickets Sale Stampede: Complaint In SHRC Against Md Azharuddin
The complaint sought action against Azharuddin for his "negligence and corruption" in the sale of the tickets for the India-Australia T20 cricket match.
A complaint was filed against Hyderabad Cricket Association president Mohammed Azharuddin in the State Human Rights Commission today.
Complainant Rachala Ugandhar Goud, the BC Political JAC Chairman, approached the SHRC seeking immediate action against Azharuddin for his "negligence and corruption" in the sale of the tickets for the India-Australia T20 cricket match to be held at Uppal stadium on September 25, and for the lathi-charge on cricket fans at the Gymkhana grounds, Secunderabad.
Goud urged the SHRC to register a criminal case against Azharuddin and other HCA officials.
He also sought the immediate dismissal of Azharuddin for the stampede at the Gymkhana Grounds and the grievous injuries suffered by the ticket seekers.
Goud also alleged that the HCA had totally failed to make proper arrangements for the sale of tickets for the match. He lamented that neither the HCA officials nor the politicians consoled the cricket enthusiasts who were grievously injured in the stampede, and demanded a payment of Rs 20 lakh as ex-gratia to each of those injured and hospitalized.
