After former cricketer Mohammed Azharuddin lashed out at the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) for denying him a nomination for the post of the President, the association's legal advisor Mir Masood Khan claimed that the ex-sportsperson's nomination was rejected as he was facing a life ban from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
Speaking to the media on Sunday, Khan said that the HCA was only following the Lodha Committee's recommendations.
Newly elected HCA Secretary Shesh Narayan alleged that the HCA Azharuddin was trying to spark a controversy against the association. Speaking to the media, Narayan suggested Azharuddin to go through official documents pertaining to election norms of the HCA.
He also suggested that Azharuddin respect the court and said that he filed for a nomination following the rules. He, too, said that the selection panel was only following the recommendations of Lodha Committee.
He added that appointing Azharuddin would demean the goal of HCA which was to strive for corruption-free elections.
