BJP MLA Nagam Janardhan Reddy on Tuesday claimed that amendments to the draft Andhra Pradesh State Reorganisation Bill 2013 cannot be made by the state Legislative Assembly.
In a memorandum submitted to Speaker Nadendla Manohar, Nagam objected to the Speaker's announcement seeking proposals for amendments to the draft AP Reorganization Bill 2013 by January 10. He said that the Telangana Bill is a Central Bill, and that the Legislative Assembly can only express its views on it, and that amendments can be proposed and made only in the Parliament.
Speaking to media persons later, Nagam alleged that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and the Speaker were conspiring to conduct clause-wise voting on the Telangana Bill. (INN)
