AP Assembly Passes Resolution On Special Status
The Budget Session of the AP Assembly today passed a resolution urging the Centre to implement all the 17 points mentioned in the A P Reorganization Act.
The Budget Session of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly today passed a resolution urging the Centre to implement all the 17 points mentioned in the A P Reorganization Act.
The House urged the Centre to implement all the promises made in the Act for the development of truncated State.
Leader of the House Chandrababu Naidu addressed the House in this regard. He said, "The BJP-led NDA government should help us wade out of the financial crisis and related problems, to construct a new capital city and to develop the State on par with the neighbouring States. The bifurcation of the united State was not done in a scientific manner and was done against our wishes, and that resulted in a great loss to the State."
He further stated, "We will complete the Polavaram project by 2018 irrespective of any problems. The State will exert pressure for Special Status, a special financial package, and funds for the north Andhra and Rayalaseema regions. On behalf of the people and the State, I appeal from the Assembly premises to the Centre to implement the A P Reorganizatiion Act fully, including the division of employees among the two Telugu States. I urge Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take a call on all pending issues."
Naidu expressed concern that the Centre was yet to lend a helping hand to his State. Unmindful of the criticism by the Opposition, the State government was committed to and continuously working for the welfare of the people and the development of the State, he claimed.
