AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi today moved the Supreme Court challenging the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB).
He argued that the bill was against the Constitution and the Muslims.
Owaisi appealed to the apex court to cancel the bill to safeguard the interests of the Muslims in the country.
Advocate Nizam Pasha appeared in the court on behalf of Owaisi.
The CAB aims at giving expedited Indian citizenship to non-Muslims of Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan who seek refuge in India against religious persecution in their countries.
