The proposed industrial park will be developed over 600 acres in a phased manner, with an initial investment of Rs 1,000 crore.
On the first day of the official visit to Japan, the Telangana Rising delegation, led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, today met with the senior leadership of Marubeni Corporation - a leading Japanese industrial conglomerate with interests spanning energy, transport, real estate, industrial infrastructure, metals, medical services, trading and more - in Tokyo.
Following discussions, Marubeni conveyed its interest in establishing a state-of-the-art, next-generation industrial park in the proposed Future City. A Letter of Intent (LoI) was signed and exchanged between both parties.
As per the proposal, the industrial park will be developed over 600 acres in a phased manner, with an initial investment of Rs 1,000 crore.
It will cater specifically to Japanese and other multinational companies seeking to establish manufacturing units in Hyderabad, and is expected to attract investments exceeding Rs 5,000 crore.
The industrial park will focus on electronics, green pharma, precision engineering, aerospace and defence - areas that align with Telangana's strategy of attracting foreign investment in advanced manufacturing and creating skilled employment opportunities.
Welcoming Marubeni to the Future City, the Chief Minister said, "We are delighted to welcome Marubeni as a marquee investor in Future City - India's first city being designed as a Net Zero city. The Marubeni Industrial Park will be among the first of its kind in the proposed Future City. It is expected to generate 30,000 direct and indirect jobs, enriching livelihoods and enhancing Telangana's skill ecosystem."
He also assured personal support to ensure Marubeni's success in the State, and added, "Given the centuries-old friendship between India and Japan, I am confident you will feel at home in Telangana."
Welcoming the Chief Minister and his delegation to Japan, Executive Officer and COO of Next Generation Business at Marubeni Dai Sakakura said, "We are delighted after hearing CM Revanth Reddy's vision for Telangana and Hyderabad, and are eager to be among the first to explore opportunities there."
