State Election Commissioner Nagi Reddy today said that all the necessary arrangements had been made for conducting the upcoming elections for local bodies in the State.
Talking to the media today, Reddy said that the EC was ready for holding the ZPTC and the MPTC elections as per schedule. The election notification would be issued between April 18 and 20, and would have all the details for the elections, and copies of it would be given, he said. Any missing names would be added to the voter list by the time of the notification's issuance, he said.
He also said that the Commission had appointed the polling staff, and would provide training to ROs and AROs for the elections.
Reddy also held a meeting on poll-preparedness with Chief Secretary S K Joshi, DGP Mahender Reddy and other officials. As per the information, the State has 32 ZPPs, 535 ZPTCs, 535 MPPs, 5,857 MPTCs, 32,007 polling stations and some 160 lakh electorate. 1,86,000 polling staff and 50,000 security personnel were needed for the elections, Nagi Reddy said.
