From Monday, the APSRTC Employee Union is set to launch an indefinite strike.
About 10 other unions of the corporation's employees have extended their support to the strike call.
Therefore, over 23 lakh buses are likely to remain in 217 depots across the state.
General Secretary of APSRTC Employee Union, K Padmakar, said, "We seek interim relief for over 1.20 lakh employees. Though we had demanded 46% IR, we agreed to 32% after negotiations but the management says it will pay only up to 21%."
General Secretary of Staff and Workers Federation V S Rao said, "There are other demands like the regularisation of the services of all the 24,577 contract employees, and fresh recruitments on regular employment basis."
The corporation has regularized the jobs of only 9,518 contract employees.
