The employees of the APSRTC have decided to go on an indefinite strike from June 13.
The JAC of the APSRTC employees took the decision demanding the fulfillment of their long-pending demands.
One of the most important demands of the employees is the payment of arrears of the pay revision commission (there are 27 other demands). The employees' JAC has also demanded that the State government withdraw the decisions like increase in the number of private buses in the corporation and reduction in the number of employees.
The JAC leaders said that they had taken the step of announcing the date for starting the strike as the talks between them and the management of the corporation had ended in a failure.
They said that they had no option but to resort to non-cooperation as the management had remained non-committal on their demands even after the demands were submitted 13 days back. They asserted that they would remain steadfast in their resolve until their demands were accepted.
