APGNOs Elections Conclude
It is probably for the first time that the APNGOs union witnessed a tough contest between two panels for the control over the powerful union of government employees.
The polling to elect a new 17-member panel of the Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted Officers (APNGOs) Association concluded in Hyderabad on Sunday.
Probably for the first time, the APNGOs union, which is spearheading the agitation for a united Andhra Pradesh, witnessed a tough contest between two panels for the control over the powerful union of government employees. While one panel was headed by present working president Ashok Babu, the new panel was led by Basheeruddin of Prakasam district.
However, both Ashok Babu and Basheeruddin gave a joint statement at the end of the polling, which was held from 9am to 3pm, saying that irrespective of who wins the elections, the employees' union would continue the Samaikyandhra agitation. (INN)
