Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Palle Raghunath Reddy on Tuesday said that the State Government would take all measures to promote Information Technology in several cities and towns.
Speaking to media persons in the State Secretariat, Reddy said that the undivided Andhra Pradesh had a turnover of nearly Rs 36,000 crores in the IT sector. However, the share of Seemandhra region was a mere Rs 700 crores.
Therefore, he said that steps were being taken to attract investments in the IT sector by offering sops to companies.
He said new areas were being identified which could be promoted as IT hubs in Andhra Pradesh.
Raghunath Reddy said that the process of IT promotion had already begun, and a series of meetings were being held with officials to prepare a comprehensive IT policy for the Andhra Pradesh Government. (INN)
