AP Seizes 23 Buses of Diwakar Travels

The Andhra Pradesh transport department today seized 23 buses belonging to former Anantapur MP and senior TDP leader J C Diwakar Reddy's Diwakar Travels.

Officers of the Andhra Pradesh transport department today seized 23 buses belonging to former Anantapur MP and senior TDP leader J C Diwakar Reddy's Diwakar Travels.

According to reports, acting on multiple complaints received against Diwakar Travels, transport department officers conducted raids on its buses under the supervision of Transport Commissioner Seetharamanjaneyulu and Joint Commissioner Prasad Rao. They identified and seized 23 buses that were carrying passengers beyond the limits and overcharging the passengers.

The officers also cancelled the permits of the 23 buses, and filed several cases against Diwakar Travels for violating the rules.

Speaking to media persons, Joint Commissioner Prasad Rao said that they had taken this action after they had received complaints against the company, and that many cases had been registered against the agency for violating the regulations. He said that a full investigation was underway.
