The State Council Educational Research and Training, on Tuesday, said that the textbooks from classes I to VI had already been introduced in a phased manner, and that now it was proposed to revise the textbooks of the remaining classes of VII to X. The revision for VII and IX classes will be done during 2010-2011 and for classes VIII and X during 2011-2012.
Accordingly, the syllabi from classes VII to X have been revised, and the draft new syllabus developed involving experts from national level institutions, universities, teacher education colleges and teachers. It has been prepared referring to the existing state syllabus, NCERT syllabus, and the syllabi of other states including Kerala, Maharashtra and Gujarat.
The draft syllabus copies of all school subjects from classes VII to X will be placed in the SCERT website www.apscert.org for inviting comments and suggestions from teachers, parents, teacher educators and other interested persons(email: apscert[at]yahoo[dot]com).
The comments and suggestions will be referred to by the subject committee for examination and for the inclusion of valid suggestions in the finalization of the syllabus and development of textbooks.
