The winter session of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly will be conducted in Hyderabad from December 17 to 22, according to the Speaker, Kodela Sivaprasada Rao.
Addressing a press conference at the Assembly premises, the Speaker said that though Guntur and Vijayawada were considered for the session, that plan was deferred due to unavailability of premises and facilities there.
The Speaker said that the session would last six days, and that the State government had decided to focus on the key issues and bills to be passed.
Arrangements for the session were being made and officials had been asked to take necessary steps, he added. He asked the various relevant departments to coordinate and the police department to provide foolproof security for the session.
It is said that the government is planning to conduct the budget session, too, in Hyderabad if it cannot find a suitable location at Amaravathi or Vijayawada.
