Another Telangana Battle In Dec: KCR

KCR has announced plans to strengthen the TRS at the constituency level by appointing 119 committees.
Hyderabad | 9th August 2010
Dedicating the by-election results to the 'martyrs' of Telangana, Telangana Rashtra Samithi leader K Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday called upon the party cadre to gear up for another battle in December for the cause of Telangana statehood.

Talking to media persons after a party executive committee meeting at TRS Bhavan, KCR announced plans to strengthen the TRS at the constituency level by appointing 119 committees.

The strengthening of the party was necessitated at constituency level as the Srikrishna Committee would be submitting its report on the future of the state by the end of December, he pointed out.

He termed the Seemandhra ministers' alleged 'treason' remarks before the Srikrishna Committee as irresponsible, and sought an unconditional apology from them and action by CM K Rosaiah against the 16 ministers.

"So far we have not received any answer from the ministers over the irresponsible and biased remarks. That is why we have issued a warning that these ministers will not be allowed to move around freely in the Telangana region," he warned.

"If the ministers' description that those who called for a separate state have committed treason is right, then prime minister Manmohan Singh and home minister P Chidambaram, who had also spoken on the Telangana statehood issue, could also be called anti-nationals," KCR pointed out.

Targeting Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu for his failure over releasing of funds for Sriramsagar Project during his tenure, he questioned the commitment of Naidu on his agitation against the Babli Irrigation Project.

"People have not believed Naidu's cheap tricks on the agitation against the illegal constructions on the Babli project, and have rejected TDP outright in the by-elections and voted for the TRS," he said.

He urged the state government to release Rs. 300 crore immediately to complete pending works on the various irrigation projects.

KCR revealed that a TRS delegation will meet the CM and hand a letter over to him in this regard soon. He warned that if the government did not take immediate action on the release of funds for the irrigation projects, TRS activists and leaders would block ministers from visiting the Telangana region.

The TRS chief urged the government to fill up the vacant engineers' posts in Sriramsagar project by recruiting eligible youth from Telangana region. He also sought details of suspended engineers in the project.

KCR said the TRS would cooperate with the Srikrishna Committee, which is scheduled to inquire into the irrigation needs of farmers of the region, on August 12.

He thanked Medak MP Vijayashanthi and all leaders for participating in the election campaigns and for extending their cooperation towards winning the by-elections.
