Secunderabad Cantonment MLA Sayanna Passes Away
BRS MLA G Sayanna passed away while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Secunderabad on Sunday.

Secunderabad Cantonment MLA G Sayanna passed away while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Secunderabad today.
He was 72.
Sayanna had been suffering from heart- and kidney-related ailments for some time. He was admitted in a private hospital on February 16 after he complained of chest pain. His condition is said to have deteriorated on Sunday, leading to his sudden demise due to a cardiac arrest.
Born on March 5, 1951, Sayanna studied B. Sc. and LL. B. He started his political career with the Telugu Desam Party, and was elected as the MLA of the Secunderabad Contomment Assembly constituency for three consecutive terms starting 1994, 1999 and 2004 in combined Andhra Pradesh.
In the 2009 general elections, Sayanna was defeated by former minister Shankar Rao. He however became the MLA of the constituency again in 2014 again as the TDP candidate in the newly formed Telangana State. Later, he joined the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (then Telangana Rashtra Samithi) and got re-elected as the MLA of the constituency in 2018.
In 2015, he was also appointed as member of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD). Sayanna also served as director of the Hyderabad Urban Development Authority (HUDA) six times, and worked as the Chairman of the House Committee on rehabilitation of street children.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao expressed shock over the sudden demise of Sayanna, and recalled his long association with the latter. Extending his condolences to the family members, the CM said that Sayanna had served the people of Secunderabad in various capacities and was rewarded by the people who had elected him as their MLA five times.
BRS working president and Telangana Minister for IT and Industries K T Rama Rao also expressed grief over the demise of Sayanna, and extended his condolences to the family members.
"He was a very humble and polite leader who always toiled for the well-being of the people of Secunderabad Cantonment. May his soul rest in peace," KTR tweeted.
Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, Council Chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy, minister T Harish Rao, minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao, minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, minister S Niranjan Reddy, minister A Indrakaran Reddy, minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy and several other BRS legislators and leaders also extended their condolences over the demise of Sayanna.
