Another Dead In MRO Burning Incident, Toll Now Four

Office boy Chandraiah of the Abdullapurmet Tahsil Office died today, taking the toll in the burning alive of Tahsildar K Vijaya Reddy to four.

Office boy Chandraiah of the Abdullapurmet Tahsil Office died in the DRDO hospital in the early hours of Monday, taking the toll in the incident of the burning alive of Tahsildar K Vijaya Reddy to four.

Chandraiah, who was battling for his life for the past 28 days, succumbed to his burns today.

Hospital sources said that Chandraiah had suffered a heart attack in the early hours and breathed his last.

Chandraiah's body was sent to the Osmania General Hospital for a post mortem.

For the uninitiated, Abdullapurmet Tahsildar Vijaya Reddy was set ablaze with petrol by an irate farmer K Suresh due to a delay in the issuing of a passbook to him for lands he claimed to own, on November 4. While the MRO died on the spot, her driver Gurunatham and office attender Chandraiah who tried to save her but got burnt themselves. Gurunatham succumbed to his injuries the next day. The farmer Suresh, who also suffered critical burns, died after three days.
