Maoist atrocities on the Telangana-Chhattisgarh border are increasing day by day.
In their latest act of carnage, Uyika Ramesh, who was working as a panchayat secretary, and his brother Arjun were hacked to death in Vazedu mandal of Mulugu district of Telangana for being "police informers".
Maoists barged into their house with firearms late on Thursday night and hacked them to death in front of their family members.
While Arjun died on the spot, Ramesh was rushed to an Eturunagaram hospital in a 108 ambulance and succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
The Maoists left letters near the bodies in the name of Vazedu-Venkatapuram area secretary Shanthakka.
The villagers said that the Maoists were indulging in such incidents claiming to be weeding put informers in the agency.
Police have sounded a high alert along the Telangana-Chhattisgarh border in the wake of the Maoists' attack.
The police are also investigating whether the Maoist cadre were directly involved in the incident or whether their associates and sympathisers were involved.
The police are also probing those who worked with the Maoists in the past and were involved in several incidents.
