The Andhra Pradesh government has decided to distribute free buttermilk packets to the public in view of the severe heat wave prevailing across the state.
A decision to this effect was taken in the cabinet meeting held today under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.
The buttermilk sachets will be distributed in the drinking water centres set up to supply water during the summer.
The government has also decided to set up air-conditioned centres near the railway and bus stations, hospitals and markets, at a cost of about Rs. 3 crores.
