250 Rakes To Export Grains

Andhra Pradesh government is making arrangements for storage and export of food grains.
Hyderabad | 19th October 2010
The State government, on Monday, submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh stating that it planned to build godowns in order to create more space for storage of food grains, under the Indira Kranthi Pathakam.

Informing media persons at the State secretariat, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Jupalli Krishna Rao stated that the State would export rice to Karnataka to the extent of 2 lakh metric tons every month.

The government has also placed a requisition to South Central Railway (SCR) for allotting 250 rakes to effect export of food grains from the State in a big way.

Similarly the State government appealed to the Prime Minister for supply of 2 lakh metric tons of complex fertilisers to meet its shortage in the State.

When asked to comment on Shadnagar MLA Shankara Rao's criticism against the government, the Minister evaded the question saying that they did not take note of it.
