The PRC Sadhana Samithi of Andhra Pradesh has decided to withdraw its decision to go on an indefinite strike.
The decision was taken following the "success" of the two-day meeting with the Cabinet sub-committee.
Speaking to media persons, the representatives of the committee announced that they had decided to withdraw their decision to go on strike as the state government had agreed to fulfill their demands.
The samithi members also called on the Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy and thanked him for fulfilling their demands despite the poor economic condition of the state.
During the meeting with the CM, the latter reportedly told the samithi members that the government would incur an additional burden of Rs. 11,500 crore to fulfill the demands of the employees. He reportedly said that he would have pleased the employees with even more incentives if the economic condition of the state government were better.
The CM reportedly said that the goverment had not only implemented the minimum time scale for the employees, but had also increased their salaries. He said that he was able to implement the different welfare programs only due to the complete support of the employees, and would not be unfair to them.
