The Andhra Pradesh government today formally invited the employees union for discussions on the contentious issue of the salary hike and the PRC.
State ministers Botcha Satyanarayana and Perni Nani invited the union leaders for discussions.
However, the union leaders demanded that the state government cancel the PRC before holding discussions with them.
They made it clear that they would not hold any kind of discussions with the state government until the controversial PRC was abolished.
They also said that they would not accept the PRC unless their demands were met by the state government.
The union leaders took this decision at a round table conference held at Vijayawada to discuss their action plan.
The conference was held at the APNGOs office located in Gandhi Nagar.
The union leaders decided to serve their strike notice to the state government on Monday.
Meanwhile, the APSRTC's recognised union NMU's state secretary Sujatha announced that the RTC workers would also take part in the proposed strike of the state government employees.
She warned the government that they would bring the entire public transport to a halt for achieving their demands.
She lamented that their problems were not solved even after the merger of the corporation with the state government. Stating that the government had promised to pay IR on par with the state government employees, she said that there was still a difference of 19% in their IR.
She also alleged that the state government had reduced their HRA from 16% to 8%.
