AP Ministers' Panel To Study G N Rao Report On Capital
The expert committee comprising 16 members, including ten ministers, will submit its recommendations within three weeks.

A High Power Committee constituted by the Andhra Pradesh government today will study the G N Rao Committee report and the Boston Consultancy Group (BCG) report on the comprehensive development of the State and on the capital issue.
The expert committee comprising 16 members, including ten ministers and six senior government officials, has been appointed as per GO No 159. The committee will work out a strategy on the way forward keeping in view the various provisions of the A P Reorganization Act and the concept of decentralized development.
The committee includes Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath, Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Revenue & Registration Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose, Minister for Municipal Administration Botsa Satyanarayana, Industries Minister Mekapati Goutham Reddy, Education Minister Adimulapu Suresh, Home Minister Mekathoti Sucharitha, Agriculture Minister Kurasala Kanna Babu, Fisheries Minister M Venkataramana, Civil Supplies Minister Kodali Nani, Minister for Transport & IPR Perni Venkataramaiah (Nani), Principal Advisor Ajay Kallam, DGP Gautam Sawang, Chief Secretary Neelam Sawhney who is also the member-convenor, the Law Secretary and the Secretary for MA & UD.
The Committee will also seek advice of the Advocate-General if needed for compliance issues, and submit its recommendations within three weeks.
Perni Venkataramaiah said that Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy wanted decentralization of development and equal representation to all regions. The CM was also committed to the creation of the legislative capital in Amaravathi, Perni said. Even the G N Rao committee wanted the government to continue the development activities that were taking place in the region, he added. The farmers of the region should come forward for discussions instead of taking up an agitation, he said.
