Liquor Scam: CPI Calls For CBI Probe

CPI State Secretary K Narayana demands a probe into the liquor scam, while calling the PCC chief's interest in a similar probe a political stunt.
Hyderabad | 30th December 2011
CPI State Secretary K Narayana has demanded a white paper on the liquor syndicate scam to bring out the truth.

He described PCC Chief Botsa Satyanarayana's interest in a CBI probe into the liquor scam as "political drama".

The State Secretary added that such actions would not get the desired results.

K Narayana said to reporters earlier this Thursday, that Botsa Satyanarayana was seeking a CBI probe only to gain political mileage, and that the government was not actually ready to face a CBI inquiry.

He said the government was resorting to delay tactics by ordering CBI probes, in an attempt to shield ministers and MLAs who are allegedly part of the liquor syndicate. (INN)
