AP Legislature Website Launched

Assembly speaker Nadendla Manohar, on Saturday, launched the website of the AP state Legislative Assembly.
Talking to media persons after launching the www.aplegislature.org website at the Assembly Hall, Manohar said that the website provides an insight into the history, rules, procedures and functioning of the AP Legislature.
He said that the website has been developed with an intention to provide several online services and facilities to members of the Legislature, in a phased manner.
Apart from this, the website also provides information relating to welfare programs and their implementation at a constituency level, he said.
Nadendla asked MLAs and MLCs to register their questions posed in the Assembly, on the website.
The speaker said that the website would also furnish the details of assets possessed by MLAs and MLCs, soon. He said that all government decisions would also be placed on the website, in 7 to 14 days.
Legislative Council chairman Dr. A Chakrapani termed the launch of the website a historic step, and said that Andhra Pradesh would prove itself to be a role model for other states.
He appealed to the government to extend it to other departments, including revenue and RTC, in order to maintain transparency.
The software for the website was provided by Phani Kumar from the Centre For Good Governance. The website also has a special feature which prevents it from being hacked by any cyber criminals. (INN)
