The central government has sanctioned Rs. 16.15 crore for the computerisation of the Andhra Pradesh State Legislative Assembly.
Talking to reporters, Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar said that the project would convert the Assembly into a paper-less institution.
He said that the project would be completed within 18 months, to make Andhra Pradesh Assembly a role model for the rest of the country.
Stating that the Assembly's website is already functional, he said that all activities in the Assembly would be computerised, and that this project would be implemented on a war-footing.
He said that steps would be taken to develop a 100% Telugu website, on the lines of the Assembly's English website. He also said that an "e-Petition" project would be launched soon as well. (INN)
