The IT and ITES Industry Association of Andhra Pradesh, an apex body of 300 IT & ITES industries in the state will organize an annual ITSAP SME conference on 19th March at HICC.
It will be a full-day conference which will be held from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm, as has been disclosed by ITSAP president V Rajanna, in a statement issued on Monday.
ITE & C's secretary Sanjay Jaju, APTS' MD P Satyanarayana, the director of the center for good governance, M N Rao, RAMINFO's MD Srinath Reddy and others are expected to address the conference.
Former Telecom secretary and current NASSCOM national president R Chandrashekhar, who took over charge recently as the president of a body that represents the $ 108 billion Indian IT-BPM industry will deliver a key-note address on "Industry Perspective and Opportunities" for SMEs.
He was the first to establish the department of information technology in the country in the state of Andhra Pradesh, and was the secretary of the department from June 1997 to December 1999.
"The SMEs act as the backbone to the economy. If the Indian IT/ITES industry needs to enter the next phase of growth, the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) sector has the potential to be one of the key drivers. IT/ITES SMEs have built niche products and services, which have helped them grow and compete globally.
"In spite of the impressive performance and the key role the SMEs play, they encounter many stumbling blocks, like market access, funding, attracting and retaining talent, leadership development, and domain knowledge," announced Rajanna, the president of ITSAP.
Some of the key areas that the one-day meet will cover include "Technology Overview and Evolving Opportunities/Business Models" and "Opportunities in e-Commerce and BFSI". (INN)
