The Andhra Pradesh government entered into an agreement with the famous dairy brand Amul today.
Special Chief Secretary of the government Poonam Malakondaiah and the Chennai Zonal head of Amul signed a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) in the presence of the Chief Minister of the state Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
The Chief Minister also spoke with the Managing Director of the company through a video conference.
The agreement will help the dairy farmers of the state get better prices for their produce, and better marketing and technological support.
Speaking on the occasion, Reddy said that good days had come for the cooperative dairies of the state, and also the agreement was a great milestone in the transforming of the lives of the women of the state.
He said that the state government had already extended Rs 11,000 crore to the women under its Asara and YSR Cheyutha schemes, and that the support would continue.
