The Revenue Minister N Raghuveera Reddy, on Tuesday, said that the state government has submitted a proposal of Rs. 3,743.98 crores to the Centre for the purpose of drought relief operations.
After a drought review meeting with the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy at the Secretariat, the Revenue minister said that the state has requested the Centre to send a team of experts assess the situation in the 876 mandals, where 51.53 lakh farmers have suffered losses.
He said that in the drought assistance report sent to Centre, the government has sought Rs. 1,886 crore to provide an input subsidy for farmers.
The details of the report include: Horticulture - Rs. 26.99 crore, village drinking water - Rs. 180.28 crores, drinking water (towns) - Rs. 77.54 crores, cattle and fodder - Rs. 220.98 crore, employment - Rs. 801.35 crores, supplementary charges - Rs. 38.7 crore, others - Rs. 514.65 crores.
The meeting was attended by Finance minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy and other officials concerned. (INN)
