Communist Party Of India general secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy, on Wednesday, stated that his party would not tie up either with the TDP or the CPI (M) in the by-elections being held for 18 Assembly segments in Andhra Pradesh.
Addressing his maiden press conference, after his election as the party's national general secretary, organised by APUWJ at Basheerbagh Press Club, Sudhakar Reddy said that the CPI would contest the by-elections alone wherever it has strength, and that it would not tie up with the TDP this time.
However, he said that the CPI would launch agitations on public issues jointly with the Communist Party Of India (Marxist).
Responding to a question on an alliance with the CPI (M), Sudhakar Reddy said the CPI would not support the CPI (M) in the by-elections, and that both of them would fight independently in the by-polls. (INN)
