Union Home Minister Amit Shah who is on a three-day visit to Tirupati to chair the 29th Southern Zonal Council meet offered prayers in the Tirumala temple yesterday night.
He was accompanied by the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
After offering prayers to Lord Venkateswara Swamy, he was given the Vedaseervachanam by vedic pundits at the Ranganayakula Mandapam.
Later, he was presented the theertha prasadams, a portrait of the Lord, calendars and diaries, and a coffee table book.
Earlier, on his arrival at the Mahadwaram - the main entrance of the temple - he was given a warm reception by TTD Chairman Y V Subba Reddy and Executive Officer Dr K S Jawahar Reddy.
Deputy Chief Minister K Narayana Swamy, MPs Dr Gurumurty and C M Ramesh, AP Endowments Minister V Srinivasa Rao, Chief Secretary Sameer Sharma, DGP Gautam Sawang, District Collector Harinarayana, Tirupati Urban SP Venkatappala Naidu, TTD JEO Veerabrahmam and TTD CVSO Gopinath Jatti were also present.
