Pointing out that the remarks of Guntur Congress MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao invited disciplinary action, suspended Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee secretary Ambati Rambabu on Wednesday demanded Pradesh Congress Committee president D Srinivas to issue a show-cause notice to Rayapati immediately.
Talking to media persons, Ambati alleged that Rayapati's statement that Chief Minister K Rosaiah had accommodated 'corrupt ministers' in his Cabinet and that he was not in a position to initiate action against them are against party interest. He said that since Rayapati had made the comments before the media and not on a party forum, these statements should invite disciplinary action.
Ambati further pointed out that the statements accused the CM of extending his indirect support to corrupt ministers.
By raising internal matters of the party before media, the MP has violated party discipline, Ambati said, and demanded that the PCC seek an explanation of the remarks.
Reacting to the alleged comments of TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu against Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy on the payment of the Rs. 84 crore as advance income tax to the government, Ambati stated that the TDP leader has no moral right to comment on Jagan as he is paying taxes in a responsible manner.
"What is wrong in paying advance tax to the government?" he asked.
Ambati further accused Naidu of illegal methods in his business dealings. He did not elaborate further on what these illegal businesses were.
The suspended PCC secretary described the TDP chief as 'mentally disturbed', and added that he was making baseless statements unable to digest the good response the Kadapa MP is receiving from people during the Odarpu yatra.
