Former minister Dokka Manikya Vara Prasad, on Saturday, said that he will take the final decision about his political future after consulting his followers on Sunday.
Speaking to media representatives at the Assembly premises, Dokka said that he was in a confused state of mind as his political guru Rayapati Sambasiva Rao was planning to join the TDP.
Stating that Rayapati had been instrumental in giving him (Dokka) a political identity, he said that he could never go against the former.
However, he said, he was yet to decide whether to support Rayapati, to stay with the Congress or to quit politics altogether.
He made it clear that he would never contest against Rayapati even if he stays with the Congress party.
Dokka admitted that the Congress party has become weak in the Seemandhra region. He advised the Congress High Command to announce that it would give the Chief Minister's post to a candidate from the Backward Classes in order to revive the party's prospects in the residuary state of Andhra Pradesh.
Speaking about Pawan Kalyan who had recently launched the Jana Sena party, Dokka said that his efforts to meet Pawan in the recent past have proved futile.
However, he still said that he would advise Pawan Kalyan to support the Congress party in the interest of the Telugu-speaking people. He said that Pawan's support to the BJP will not help anyone. (INN)
