Allu Sirish, brother of Telugu film star Allu Arjun and son of hotshot film producer Allu Aravind, is embroiled in a controversy involving the alleged harrassment of a woman.
On the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, at Over The Moon, the pub at
Daspalla Hotel in Jubilee Hills, a woman was allegedly misbehaved with by three unidentified men. The woman was a videographer accompanying Ma Faiza, a DJ from Mumbai.
Ma Faiza says that one of the three men was the "brother of a famous actor", although she denied knowledge of his name. She told a newspaper, "I don't know his name. Everyone who was there knows who he is. I'm sure security cameras, too, will prove it."
According to the DJ, when the videographer was walking towards her with the camera on top of her head, one of the guys flicked her on her head. They then proceeded to twist her arm, and tried to snatch her camera from her. They even kicked her and touched her inappropriately, verbally abusing her, she alleged.
Ma Faiza claims the hotel staff did nothing about the incident - in fact, according to her, they even let the culprits slink away after taking Ma Faiza and her colleague to a separate room on the pretext of discussing the issue.
However, the DJ and her friend said they had clicked photographs of the culprits with their mobile phones.
At 3:30am, they lodged a complaint at the Jubilee Hills Police Station, saying that the incident had occurred at 1:30am.
Allu Sirish has denied the accusations, claiming he had left the pub at 12:30am. He says this is a case of mistaken identity. This is what he says on Twitter:
"Some drunk people have a brawl at a night club & some news channels drag my name just bcoz I visited that place earlier. I have no clue who, what, why. I'm at home & suddenly have ppl calling me that my name's on the news channels. The mgmt of the club & cops clarified dat its a mistaken identity & I have nothing 2 do with it. Wish media acted more responsibly as somebody's reputation is at stake. The accusations were made on the headlines & clarification only on the scrolling news bar. Sad!"
The hotel management even says there was no brawl at all at the hotel, and that there was no report.
