Film producer Allu Aravind announced today that Rs 2 crore in financial assistance would be provided to the family of the Sandhya theatre stampede victims.
The announcement came after Aravind visited Sri Tej, the 8-year-old boy undergoing treatment at the KIMS Hospital after getting caught in the stampede.
"Rs 1 crore of the amount is from actor Allu Arjun. The producers of
Pushpa 2 and director Sukumar have pledged Rs 50 lakh each," Aravind said.
He handed over the cheques to TFDC Chairman Dil Raju.
Earlier, accompanied by Dil Raju and Pushpa 2 producer Ravi Shankar, Aravind visited the hospital to inquire about the boy's condition, and spoke with the boy's father Bhaskar.
Addressing the media after that, Aravind said, "Sri Tej is recovering well, and the ventilator has been removed. Hopefully he will soon be back to normal. We couldn't meet the victim's family earlier due to legal issues. I visited Sri Tej 10 days back with the necessary permissions, and at that time he was still on ventilator support."
Dil Raju added that the boy's condition had significantly improved over the past two days. "Doctors have confirmed his progress. The Pushpa 2 producers, the director and Allu Arjun have collectively decided to support the family financially. We have requested an appointment with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. We plan to meet him to discuss various issues. The meeting is scheduled for 10 am on Thursday," Raju said.
