The state continued to receive excess rains, with average rainfall at the end of June being 188.8 mm as against a normal rainfall of 128.3 mm.
The monsoons remained active during the last one week over Telangana with above normal rainfall (+36%) received during the week. Light to moderate rainfall occurred at many places on most of the days of the week.

Out of 584 mandals, 69% of mandals (405) received excess to large excess rainfall, 20% (117) received normal rains, 10% (58) received deficit rainfall and one percent, i. e. four, received large deficit rainfall. The highest rainfall during the week of 88.8 mm was recorded at Soan (Nirmal) on June 24.
The weather model run at TSDPS of the planning department, and other available numerical guidance from national centres (IMD and other centres), indicate that, with the shift of monsoon rainfall activity to northern parts of the country, subdued rainfall activity is expected to continue during the week, mostly over central and southern parts of the state.
According to Y V Rama Rao, consultant (weather forecast/analysis) of the Telangana State Development Planning Society, from July 1 to 7, 18 districts - Hyderabad, Vikarabad, Ranga Reddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Mahabubnagar, Wanaparthy, Nizamabad, Kamareddy, Rajanna-Sircilla, Nagarkurnool, Jogulamba-Gadwal, Nalgonda, Yadadri-Bhongir, Jangaon, Medak, Sangareddy, Siddipet and Suryapet - will receive light rainfall at a few places. During the same period, 13 districts - Adilabad, Komrambheem-Asifabad, Nirmal, Peddapalle, Karimnagar, Jagtial, Mancherial, Jayashankar-Bhupalpally, Warangal (U), Warangal (R), Mahabubabad, Bhadradri-Kothagudem and Khammam - will experience light to moderate rainfall at a few places.
